Getting married in the Warfield Parish

We meet in several locations for worship throughout Warfield and Bracknell, but St Michael the Archangel and St Andrew's are our only buildings licensed for weddings.

We would count it a real privilege to be a part of the start of your marriage and we welcome you to use our building for your wedding or marriage blessing and pray that you may sense the presence of God and grow in knowing his love for you in his son Jesus Christ. Please note that eligibility to get married in specific parish churches is defined by the Church of England, and these criteria are legal restrictions that we must adhere to.

If you wish to book a wedding at St Michael's or St Andrew's or just want to have a preliminary look around, please contact Alison at the Church Office by email or by phone 01344 886900.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can we get married at St Michael's or St Andrew's
Getting married is a legal undertaking and there are certain criteria that need to be met before you can arrange a service in church.  You need to ‘qualify’ to marry at St Michael the Archangel, Warfield using one of these requirements:

  • If one of you lives in the parish - that is the ecclesiastical parish not the civil parish (use Parish finder to check)
  • If either of you is on the church's Electoral Roll
  • If one of you was baptised or prepared for confirmation in the parish
  • If one of you has ever lived in the parish for six months or more
  • If one of you has at any time regularly attended public worship in the parish for six months or more
  • If one of your parents has lived in the parish for six months or more in their child’s lifetime
  • If one of your parents has regularly attended public worship there for six months or more in their child’s lifetime
  • If one of your parents or grandparents were married in the parish

2. How much will it cost?
There is no doubt that the choices you make about your wedding day can make a huge impact on the cost. If you choose to marry in church, we want it to be a day that is personal and special for you, but that need not mean you spend a fortune.

For details of current fees please contact the Church Office on 01344 886900 or email. Please note fees are valid from 1st January - 31st December.

3. Will there be a preparation course?
When you book your wedding service to take place at one of our churches you will be invited to attend our Marriage Preparation Session.

This is an informal session over the course of a day that gives you both chance to look at various aspects of your wedding and think about the importance and meaning of the vows you will make in your wedding service.  It will also give you the opportunity to meet the member of clergy who will conduct your wedding service and check any administrative queries with our Administrator.

4. I live in Warfield Parish - but can I choose to marry elsewhere?
If you are getting married in another church and think you need your Banns to be published, please first of all check that you do live within our parish. You can do this by using the Parish Finder (a useful facility to help you identify the parish where you live). Once you are sure that you need our help - then please email or call 01344 886900.
